"Thank you to those who have experienced Dune so far, and those who are going in the days and weeks ahead. We're excited to continue the journey," it wrote.
Released last week in Irish cinemas, Dune - co-written and directed by Villeneuve - adapts the first part of Frank Herbert's legendary sci-fi novel, about the son of a noble family entrusted with the protection of the most valuable asset and most vital element in the galaxy. Though the movie is officially titled Dune, those who have seen the movie will know that its name actually appears onscreen as"Dune: Part One."
Prior to the film's release, there was the question as to whether Dune would make enough of a profit at the box office to greenlight a sequel that would tackle the second part of the book. However, having already been estimated as making over $220 million, as well earning positive reviews from critics, a follow-up has now been confirmed with Villeneuve returning.
Credit where it's due, they did a good job with part 1.
