A viral tweet claiming this is the case in a number of countries is inaccurate for a number of reasons

MISINFORMATION, HALF-TRUTHS and downright falsehoods about the Covid-19 pandemic have been spreading far and wide online.

The original tweet was sent early on 13 May but a screenshot of it was sent about 12 hours later by US actor Kevin Sorbo, who has over 220,000 followers, and it went viral from there. In Ireland as of Tuesday, the case fatality rate is 6.44%. That is 1,561 deaths from from 24,251 cases. So while in the fullness of time we might be in a better position to judge a ‘survival rate’ for the virus, we’re not there yet.

Again though, that is just an estimation because we don’t have sufficient knowledge of spread of the virus yet to be sure.

Jesus Christ fact check yourselves

So if nobody can accurately measure the infection rate right now how can you debunk any statistic?

That's not what anyone I read said..... What people were saying was general population have a 99% chance of not dying from CV, ie getting it and subsequently dying from it Basically, saying that will not happen 99% of populations

Indeed the above numbers are wrong. According to Stanford academics it's more like 99.7

Why don't the media remember the B.S. figures they reported to us at the start?

The numbers listed are just the % of people in each counry who have NOT died from Covid19. Its accurate in that sense and an important perspective to have for the legions out there who have been terrorised by fear ... by their own governments.

The viral tweet looks far more accurate than your dreadful article, claiming to 'debunk' it. It lists what you know to be ludicrous mortality rates and virtually ignores the millions who have zero or mild symptoms and just have a lemsip, or dont even know they have it.

Is there any figures available for overall deaths in 2019 in Ireland Feb till June compared to same period in 2020. This would seem like the obvious thing to ask but I can't find the answer. Maybe a journalist wants to chase it up?

The MSM are the biggest scaremongers of all. Making a fortune from it.

The survival rate has not been near this in ireland
