A number of credit unions across the country are offering current accounts for the first time, which will include contactless cards

Members who choose to avail of the current account will now be able to use a Mastercard debit card with contactless payments.

They are launching plenty of different features for account holders, including standing orders, direct debits and an overdraft.A total of 30 credit unions with 115 branches nationwide follows the coming together of some of the country's biggest credit unions to create a shared services company. "For the first time, Credit Unions will be able to provide their members with a real choice for their day-to-day financial needs," said Seamus Newcombe, Chief Executive of currentaccount.ie speaking to
