A further 720 confirmed cases of Covid-19 were reported by the National Public Health Emergency Team on Tuesday.Five new deaths were also reported by Nphet, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,890.Some 65 per cent are under 45 years of age.

There were 341 patients being treated for Covid-19 in the State’s hospitals on Tuesday afternoon, of which 38 are in intensive care.A total of 14,648 cases of coronavirus have been reported over the past two weeks with the 14 day incidence rate of infection now at 307.6 per 100,000 of the population.

The chief medical officer Dr Tony Holohan has urged people with Covid-19 and their contacts to act fully in accordance with advice.

Was watching Dr. Tony on the 6.91 news, he's really growing into the role of the Countries leader.

Roughly the same fatality rate as Flu then at this point in previous years.

Great to see the numbers reducing, The CMO is going to be busy over the next few months when the terms of reference are agreed on the cervical check scandal.

Given that test centres were closed yesterday... how real are these numbers
