There were 772 positive cases in Co Cavan in the last 14 days, leaving an incidence rate per 100,000 population of 1,013.4.

Dr Dara Hume said GPs are "close to being overwhelmed" as the 14-day incidence rate of Covid-19 per 100,000 people surpassed 1,000 in Co Cavan. There were 772 positive cases in the county in the last two weeks, leaving an incidence rate of 1,013.4.

"People have been really good at following measures in shops but I think they let their guard down in familiar settings like when they meet neighbours or in other gatherings," Dr Hume said."I think the main issues are large gatherings, like after GAA matches, and our proximity to the border has to be another factor," she said.

Can we have the figures for how many of these cases (and these cases only) have been hospitalised with Covid 19, and how many of these cases have died. That will help us understand better the significance of the problem. Also same numbers for flu and compare with same period 2019

How many went to hospital?

Ha ha what's the population of Cavan

why is Cavan different to other parts of the country?

Sweden and Germany at less than 100 cases per 100k. Ireland is at 270. Spain at 350 and Belgium near 1000, yet guess what? Ireland is the only one in a 2nd lockdown. How do we get it so wrong all the time? Ans- put idiots who ran the heath service for years in charge.

Yeah,how many r serious

What proper doctors say: 'The truth is that only a fraction of daily reported ‘cases’ are clinically significant in terms of transmissibility or impact.'

Thanks to GAA binge drinking.

How many cases would there be if HPSC guidelines were followed for the PCR testing?

I wonder is that because it’s bordering the most infected place in the world🤦🏼‍♂️ Are we ever gonna protect our border or just keep destroying more livelihoods with these ridiculous lockdowns😣
