An article that was written in 2017 featured on Wednesday's Junior Cert exam, wherein Aoife Dooley jokingly talked about the stresses of public transport. She has been told that she will be raped, that her house windows will be bricked, and that her legs will be cut off, all by students who took Wednesday's Junior Cert English exam.
My son was delighted with this on his exam. Didn't realise the words had been changed and yes, they should have told her. Though, my son and his classmates all followed Aoife_Dooley on Instagram soon as they got out of exam! They thought it was great! Better than Shakespeare...
Perhaps they consulted The Irish Times?
I don't get it..why are the junior certs sending threats over this
Didn't know kids were intelligent enough to even find the author on social media.
It’s so stupid as well because I’m a years time they’ll realize the junior Cert were the easiest set of exams they’ve ever had to do. They need to cop on
SEC usually always state that the text has been adapted for the purposes for exams without the author's prior consent. Obviously for data protection reasons the SEC have never had a leak for a reason
Terrible Aoife that to have to put up with cowards comments but they are nothing tiny little minds and don’t even deserve any more air time ! Upwards and and onwards Aoife I really enjoyed your article 😂
Am I missing something with the original article? Why is it giving rise to so much baffling vitriol? The writing in it is fairly so-so but obviously that pales into insignificance when this is a result
What kind of little shits feel they have the right to swear violence against any woman saying they're gonna rape her, brick her windows or cut off her legs? How dare they bully so. There'd better be consequences for them.
SM is increasingly a toxic cess pit
Little Runts! BUT.... why are they doing this? What exactly offends them ?
The exam papers have disclaimers in fine print saying they take the pieces without asking and can change them if they wish without permission so.
Am surprised that they found this offensive but definitely not surprised at the trolling. Surely we recognize that adults get away with it too so no consequences means it continues.... it’s always a good time to take action on this gardainfo GardaTraffic
Between this and the Ana Kriegel murder, I'm seriously worried about the impact of the Internet and social media on today's teens.
What kind of little bastards are being dragged up today? Wait til they become adults. Full force of the law should be brought down on them.
Animals being dragged up 🤢🤢🤢🤢
Yet astiunion were vilified for protesting the shambolic elements of this new JC 'reform'. How a writer can be subjected to this is deeply problematic. This is something the schools cannot fix. But sure let them do yoga and it'll be grand. VoiceforTeacher
What was the article about? Why the outcry? So many questions.
The ones who threatened rape should be hanged or fed to the dogs.
So any teen who sat the junior cert who is found to be sending rape/death threats should be expelled from the rest of the exam and hopefully expelled from school too. Sorted!
Can we lock up the 16 year olds who threatened rape?
And State Exams Commission says?
