movies on TV

The Rock! Seth Rogen! Denzel Washington! Tonight is an all-star night on the telly.

They’re not all in the same movie, obviously.

Although we would absolutely love to see that movie, whatever it is.

Instead, here are the handful of movies on the small screen tonight that’ll help a few of your Tuesday evening hours fly by…

TUESDAY 8 OCTOBER

Back To The Future Part II – E4 – 8.30pm

The one in which Marty and Doc actually go to the future (in the distant year of 2015!), unlike the other two, in which they went to the past, and then the even further past. Still waiting on those widely-used hoverboards, Hollywood.

Death Race – Syfy – 9pm

Jason Statham drives cars around violently, attempting to run other people off the road and also, Tyrese is in it. No, this isn’t a Fast and Furious movie, despite all of the evidence to the contrary. But, it is a lot of fun.

Baywatch – Film4 – 9pm

The Rock and Zac Efron star in this action comedy update of the hit show. Truth be told, it isn’t very good, but it is full of pretty people running on a beach and sometimes that is all you need.

The Green Hornet – Comedy Central – 9pm

Seth Rogen dipped his toe into the world of superhero movies, playing the rich buffoon who is trying to stop a crime lord (Christoph Waltz), but it is actually his faithful man-servant Kato (Jay Chow) who does all the heavy lifting. Better than you’ve heard, to be honest.

Crimson Tide – ITV4 – 10.05pm

Incredibly tense thriller in which Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington go head-to-head on a nuclear submarine when a broken message from the Pentagon may have told them to go to war.

LISTEN: You Must Be Jokin’ with Aideen McQueen – Faith healers, Coolock craic and Gigging as Gaeilge
