Stranger Things came into our lives six years ago, and has gone on to become Netflix’s favourite show.
Season 4 Volume one was released on Netflix last month and was a rollercoaster where we were introduced to Eddie Munson, and The Hellfire Club.
It’s hard to believe we are just a few days from Strangers Things part two being released.
Set in the '80s, the highly popular sci-fi horror drama created by the Duffer Brothers and follows a group of school kids as they explore the supernatural events occurring in the fictional town of Hawkins.
The series explores Hawkin’s connection to a hostile alternate reality called the Upside Down after a link between it and Earth is made by a government child experimentation facility.
The Duffer Brothers included references to the pop culture of the 1980's, while themes and directorial aspects were inspired by the works of Steven Spielberg, and Stephen King.
The series has been credited with catapulting its cast to stardom, and includes Winona Ryder in its casting.
How old are the cast compared to their characters?
The cast began filming six years ago, and have grown before our eyes, but their characters are still school kids.
They graduated from middle school between seasons two and three, and are now freshman in high school on "Stranger Things" season four.
Millie Bobby Brown (Eleven/Jane Hopper)
Actress Millie Bobby Brown plays the role of character Eleven who is supposed to be 14 in this season.
Eleven has telepathic and psychokinetic abilities, a result of being one of Dr. Brenner's subjects from Hawkins National Laboratory.
She escapes the lab and eventually becomes an adoptive daughter to Jim Hopper, and adjusts to living a normal life with help of Mike and his friends.
In real life, fashionista Millie Bobby Brown is actually 18, and was born on February 19, 2004.
She was born in Marbella, Spain.
Finn Wolfhard (Mike Wheeler)
Actor Finn Wolfhard plays Eleven's love interest, and is meant to be around 14, whereas in real life Finn is now 19 years old and was born on December 23, 2002.
Finn was born in Vancouver, Canada.
Mike is the brother of character Nancy Wheeler.
Noah Schnapp (Will Byers)
Noah Schnapp is currently 17 years old, born on October 3, 2004 — though his character Will Byers is about 14 now.
Caleb McLaughlin (Lucas Sinclair)
Caleb McLaughlin is the oldest of all the main boys. His character Lucas is about 14. But in real life Caleb is 20, and was born on October 13, 2001.
In season two, he is one of Max's love interests and eventually becomes her boyfriend in season three.
Caleb played young Simba in a stage adaptation of The Lion King.
Priah Ferguson (Erica Sinclair)
Priah Ferguson plays the role of Erica Sinclair, Lucas’ sister, her character is about 11. But Priah is 15 years old now and was born on October 1, 2006.
Sadie Sink (Max Mayfield)
Sadie Sink, whose favourite song is Kate Bush classic, Running up that Hill, is 20 years old, born on April 16, 2002 while her character Max is around 14.
Gaten Matarazzo (Dustin Henderson)
Gaten plays 14-year-old Dustin Henderson. Gaten is 19 years old, and was born on September 8, 2002.
Before Stranger Things, Gaten appeared on Broadway in Les Misérables.
Joe Keery (Steve Harrington)
Joe Keery is 30, his birthday is on April 24, 1992, while his character Steve Harrington just finished high school and is about 19 years old.
Keery's character Steve has become friends with the younger teens on the show and looks after them.
In real life, the actor is a decade older than all of his co-stars.
Maya Hawk (Robin Buckley)
"Stranger Things" newcomer Maya Hawke is 23 years old, born on July 8, 1998, and plays 18-year-old Robin.
Natalia Dyer (Nancy Wheeler)
Natalie is 25, and was born on January 13, 1995.
She plays high school senior Nancy Wheeler who is 19.
Student journalist Nancy finds another side of herself while investigating the Hawkins Lab, and is the older sister of Mike.
Charlie Heaton (Jonathan Byers)
Charlie is 28 years old, born on February 6, 1994, while his character Jonathan Byers is about 18 years old.
He was born in Bridlington, East Yorkshire, England.
Joseph Quinn (Eddie Munson)
Joseph Quinn (born May 15, 1993) is 29 years old.
Joseph joins the Stranger Things cast in season 4 as Eddie Munson who is around 21, and the leader of the Hellfire Club.
The first two episodes of Season Four volume two will be released on Netflix on July 1st.
