Joe vs Carole and 5 more big trailers you might have missed this week

Stephen Porzio

A dramatisation of the Carole Baskin and Joe Exotic feud is coming to screens soon.

Another week, another batch of new trailers from the world of film and TV.

Now it should be said, JOE already covered the teasers for Amazon’s Lord of the Rings series, Moon Knight and Our Flag Means Death in separate articles.

However, plenty of other notable trailers came out in the last week which we’ve compiled for you below.

Fistful of Vengeance

Fans of action films like The Raid, its sequel The Raid 2 and The Night Comes For Us should be excited to hear that the star of those projects, actor and skilled martial artist Iko Uwais, will lead the cast of another action thriller.

A standalone film sequel to Netflix series Wu Assassins, Fistful of Vengeance will see super-powered assassin Kai (Uwais) and friends Lu Xin (Lewis Tan) and Tommy (Lawrence Kao) track a killer from San Francisco’s Chinatown to Thailand to avenge the death of a loved one.

The movie punches its way onto the streaming service on 17 February.

The Fallout

Rising stars Jenna Ortega (Scream, You) and Maddie Ziegler (Music, West Side Story) are the leads of this drama that follows two teenagers in the aftermath of a school shooting.

Having already garnered rave reviews – it currently has a 92% score on Rotten Tomatoes – The Fallout is out in the US on 27 January and is set for a digital release in Ireland sometime after.

Joe vs Carole

Those who binged the first season of Tiger King during the first few weeks of the pandemic may be curious to check out this series, which dramatises the now much-publicised feud between Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin.

The two will be played by John Cameron Mitchell (Hedwig and the Angry Inch) and Kate McKinnon (Saturday Night Live), both of which – based on the trailer – seem to be doing impressive work mimicking the real-life people.

All eight episodes of the show will be available to stream on Peacock from 4 March, exclusively on Sky and NOW.

Pam & Tommy

Set to be one of the most talked about shows of the year, Disney+ has unveiled a new trailer for Pam & Tommy.

For those unaware, the eight-episode series will focus on the marriage between actress and model Pamela Anderson and rocker Tommy Lee (an unrecognisable Lily James and Sebastian Stan) in the ’90s, as well as the release of their infamous unauthorised sex tape.

If that was not enough to sell you on the show, the guy who stole the intimate video is played by Seth Rogen.

Pam & Tommy premieres on Disney+ on 2 February in Ireland, debuting with the first three episodes.

WeCrashed

Fresh off his much-discussed supporting turn in House of Gucci, Jared Leto will star (and sport another accent) in this Apple TV+ drama chronicling “the greed-filled rise and inevitable fall of WeWork, one of the world’s most valuable startups”.

Co-starring Anne Hathaway, WeCrashed will arrive on the streamer from 18 March.

Apple also this week dropped another look at its star-studded sci-fi thriller show Severance, which will premiere a month before WeCrashed on 18 February.

The Boys: Diabolical

Fans of Amazon’s hit series The Boys still have quite a bit longer to wait to see its third season, which will premiere in June later in the year.

However, what will certainly make the wait easier is The Boys: Diabolical, an animated anthology spin-off series offering unseen stories from the show’s universe.

Dropping on Prime Video from 4 March, the above teaser lives up to its title in the best way.
