Ryan Murphy is back with a new Netflix show centered around the life of the mythical designer of the 1980s: Roy Halston. In the role of the designer, Ewan McGregor at his best.
A fashion icon
Those who were lucky enough to go to Studio 54 in the 1980s can testify. At the time, its eccentric guests loved Roy Halston Frowick alias Halston, the star designer of the disco years, who brought a new silhouette to American glamour. Directed by Ryan Murphy and co-produced by Ewan McGregor, Halston will showcase the life of the designer, his spectacular rise to fame (he dressed Jackie Kennedy, Lauren Bacall, Margaux Hemingway and Bianca Jagger) and his fight to maintain control of his brand until his death in 1990. We hope to see an episode focused on a legendary night during which he went head to head with Yves Saint Laurent in La bataille de Versailles, a contest of shows between five French designers and five Americans, that allowed the glamour and functional American style to explode on the international fashion scene. With five episodes, Simply Halston will be released in May on Netflix.
