The most spectacular artworks by Tadao Ando

Just a few months after the inauguration of his latest Parisian masterpiece at the Bourse de Commerce for the Pinault Collection, Japanese architect Tadao Ando will be the subject of a retrospective at the Centre Pompidou in Paris. Ando’s signature stands out among the work of any other architect with his radical lines, geometric but soft proportions and quasi-systematic use of smooth concrete. Ando uses the crude form without rendering his work itself crude - the ultimate goal for an architect. Ando’s work adheres to no modern standard, he is inspired by the body in the urban versus the natural setting, his level of anthropological study through architecture is unparalleled and remains the line connecting his works. The Centre Pompidou will display 50 of Ando’s works, alongside 180 drawings and 70 models as well as innumerable slideshows.
