A woman who miraculously survived a multi-car crash in San Francisco that tragically claimed the life of her boyfriend and their beloved dog is grappling with her immense loss. Linh Luu shared that she and Mikhael Romanenko, known affectionately as 'Misha,' were deeply in love and had envisioned a future together. However, their dreams were shattered on a fateful Sunday night when a Tesla , driven by 66-year-old Jia Lin Zheng, collided with several other vehicles.

Zheng was subsequently arrested but later released pending an investigation by the district attorney into the cause of the accident. Seven individuals, including Luu, sustained injuries in the harrowing pileup. Law enforcement authorities stated that Zheng was allegedly speeding at the time of the crash. Luu fondly remembers her boyfriend, describing him as a beacon of joy, kindness, intelligence, and romanticism. She expressed her profound grief, stating, 'I feel like I'm in a really bad dream, and I'm trying to wake up from it, so I can see him and hug him. And tell him how horrible this dream is.' Luu recounted the harrowing sequence of events leading up to the crash. She and Romanenko, accompanied by their cherished dog, Keeper, were traveling on Interstate 280 towards downtown San Francisco. They had planned to pick up family members from their residence to take them to San Francisco International Airport. As they exited onto 6th and Harrison streets, their vehicle was violently struck in the collision. Luu revealed that she was completely unaware of the impact, experiencing a sudden blackout. She recalled waking up on a gurney, being transported through various medical rooms. Upon regaining consciousness, she instinctively felt the devastating truth – the man she considered the love of her life and their beloved dog had perished. 'You can feel their energy and I didn't feel his. I couldn't feel Keeper,' she shared, her voice heavy with sorrow.According to law enforcement reports, the driver of a black Tesla was implicated in a four-car collision on Interstate 280 near the 6th Street exit before fleeing the scene. A minute later, paramedics responded to a chaotic scene at the intersection of 6th and Harrison, where seven vehicles were mangled beyond recognition. Luu sustained multiple injuries, including a concussion, broken bones, and underwent two surgeries. Despite her own physical pain and emotional turmoil, Luu was determined to attend Romanenko's and Keeper's funeral services. She bravely left the hospital on Wednesday to pay her respects, but intends to return for further treatment. District Attorney Brooke Jenkins issued a statement emphasizing the need for a thorough investigation, stating, 'It is critical that we take the time to diligently comb through all of the evidence and gather as much information as possible so that we’re able to make the correct charging decision.' Luu's heart is filled with a profound sense of loss and a yearning for justice. She seeks solace in remembering Romanenko's radiant smile and the joy he brought to everyone around him. She is committed to honoring his legacy by living a life filled with kindness, just as he did. Her friends and loved ones share her sentiment, remembering Romanenko as a truly exceptional person. Luu expressed her determination to live by his example, stating, 'I want to live by his legacy of having a kind heart.'
