A rising number of U.S. workers who left employers in search of better conditions reconsidered and quit again soon after. Find out more.

Among workers who took a new job in 2021, the share who had been in their previous position for less than 12 months rose by 6.5 per cent compared with a year earlier, data compiled by LinkedIn show.

Laurel Camirand was one of them. Feeling undervalued working at a treatment centre for men recovering from mental-health issues and substance abuse, she left last September to become a program director in a similar field at another company.Article content At first, she tried to stick it out, but she became withdrawn from work and isolated in her office. She quit within six months.

Most jobs suck, why not try to find a good one?

Employers that pay the industry standard or better and treat employees with dignity won’t have a problem

Unless your employer is giving you a 10%+ yearly raise, I don't blame them. People who 6-month job hopped twice in a year, negotiating up each time are likely the only people even keeping *par* with real inflation rate.

Within 6-12 months the tables will turn and employers will have the upper hand. Choose wisely.
