Winnipeg teen told she has only days or weeks to live makes video encouraging people to vote

WINNIPEG — Maddison Yetman had been looking forward to voting in her first federal election since junior high school, but she never expected it to be her last.

“If I can find the time to vote, you can find the time to vote,” Yetman says from a hospital bed in a video posted Tuesday on Twitter and Facebook. — Maddison October 15, 2019Six hours after the video was posted, it had been viewed about 47,000 times. “ got to do it for one election and it’s pretty unfortunate she won’t be around to do it for others.”

“She has time left on this Earth that is measurable in hours and she took time to vote,” Williamson said. “And yet 30 to 35 per cent of Canadians won’t bother to go vote.”
