ST. LOUIS -- A retired police captain who died during a night of violent protests was trying to protect his friend's pawn shop, his widow said.

Cities across the U.S. have seen protests and violence since George Floyd died May 25 after a white Minneapolis officer pressed his knee into Floyd's neck for several minutes even after the handcuffed black man stopped moving and pleading for air. Former St. Louis County police Chief Tim Fitch knew Dorn for 30 years and said they became close friends when Dorn and his wife were leading the St. Louis police department's Explorers program for young people interested in law enforcement careers, while Fitch was leading the county's program.

not sure why people find this shocking - social media is full of looting, personal assaults, crimes against property and murder ... mainstream media won’t show that - they’d rather talk about Trump taking a walk or Trudeau handing out money to some arts group .LOL strange times

Yet. No protests from the community demanding justice because he was killed by African Americans. It doesn’t fit the agenda

Did anyone notice that he was black? I guess his black life didn't matter to this criminal.

This is just awful, we need to stop the looters and rioters as they are taking away our message to the PUBLIC.

Belgium1649 One guy was a convicted felon high on drugs killed by an asshole elevated by the MSM the other a decorated retired officer that was selflessly helping his community killed by an asshole and hardly mentioned by MSM....very telling.

The truth is no one knows who shot retired black police captain David Dorn! If there was not looting & people being killed in the street Trump would not be able to deploy the US Military to deprive them of their Constitutional Rights! Cui bono?

WHERE IS YOUR OUTRAGE. ALL BLACK LIVES MATTER !!

Alternative Headline - 'Black man murdered by looters who claim to be protesting a black man who was murdered'

hey the mainstream picked up the story. A little late and it would be nice if you put his name in the headline but that's alright.
