Mr. Boessenkool believes that the government’s preference for CERB over CBI stems from the mindset of bureaucrats in the Finance Department, who prefer to meet an economic challenge with a targeted solution, and to then tinker with that solution as problems crop up, rather than to adopt universal measures.Mr. Boessenkool has an unlikely ally in the NDP , which is also calling for a guaranteed basic income to fight the recession.

globepolitics Wife applied and got the benefit. Not a single question about other income in the home. I could make 25 million a year and she is still eligible.
globepolitics The chance to err always exists but to let that chance paralyze you into indecision is the true threat
globepolitics I call it a loan they aren't giving money away to everyone if you end up making more than base of your EI you have to pay money back that's how it works in Canada I have not been unemployed in last 25 years

globepolitics Why would you even go down this route? Why can’t the media stop surgically looking for a negative angel all the time. ESPECIALLY NOW. Our country doesn’t need this. We just don’t.
globepolitics That's not my problem RIGHT NOW AH
globepolitics Clawbacks are the worst for low income people who will struggle to even have enough to survive let alone pay back.
