Since the blockades began on Feb. 6, Via Rail has cancelled more than 470 trains, affecting nearly 100,000 passengers

Passenger train operator Via Rail will temporarily suspend nearly 1,000 employees as rail blockades in protest of a B.C. pipeline continue to prevent service on large chunks of its network.

“This general interruption is an unprecedented situation in our history. In 42 years of existence, it is the first time that VIA Rail, a public intercity passenger rail service, has to interrupt most of its services across the country,” Via Rail’s chief executive Cynthia Garneau said in a statement.

Unfortunately Canadians taxpayers again will be stuck with the bill for the incompetence of JustinTrudeau JustinTrudeaumustgo cdnpoli

I sincerely hope that these unfortunate victims of Liberal weakness and incompetence reconsider their votes next time we head to the ballot box. The Liberals, NDP and Greens generally support the end of the Canadian economy.

Remeber these are 'peaceful protests'...

These layoffs affect hundreds of VIA staff who work in the lower rungs of the company. It’s real a hardship for so many.

Fake capitalism

Look how masterfully Trudeau and the Liberals are handling this... with aid from Elizabeth May, the Bloc and the NDP. TrudeauMustGo canpoli cdnpoli

Wet’suwet’en protests: CN Rail to lay off around 450 workers amid rail blockadesThe layoffs will affect operational staff, including employees working at Autoport in Eastern Passage, Moncton, Charny and Montreal. Smooth move CN. Putting more pressure on first nations to cave in to pressure. This is also to do with everyone's future. If this pipeline goes through it will make a mockery of Canada's future environmental protection of land, sea, lakes, rivers and wildlife. I would lay off half or 90% that way get government bailouts Wonder if those 450 union workers ever thought of having a chat with the Mohawks at their blockade?
