Vaughn Palmer: Part of Liberals' rebranding may include coalition-friendly name change

In 2017, while the Liberals saw their legislative majority evaporate elsewhere in B.C., Bernier won his seat with 76 per cent of the vote against a lone opponent from the NDP.

“The B.C. Liberal party has time to renew and rebrand,” he declared on social media Wednesday. “If the party fails to respond constructively, quickly and courageously, conservatives will go elsewhere, including some sitting MLAs.” For all the fuss over the Liberal brand, the preliminary results from campaign 2020 suggest the party had an easier time hanging on to seats in the north and Interior — where the federal Conservatives are strong.

Social Credit had no obvious association with the Conservative or Liberal brands, making it easier for supporters of those parties in the federal arena to work together to keep the NDP out provincially.Article content continued They scrubbed the idea in favour of recruiting support from B.C. Reform, which had taken almost 10 per cent of the vote and cost the Liberals maybe a dozen seats.

The possibility was shelved in the fall of 2012 after a party committee concluded there was not enough time for a proper rebranding before the election scheduled for May 2013.

New name-Money Laundering Enablers

Well said, VaughnPalmer . Change the name; drop the Liberal/NDP/?party-Wilson connotation; then I’ll re-join the (Social Credit) party. Or, as some say, a revival of BCConservative Party. Weisgerber’s Reform. Liberal Convention could be a very lonely place this time around.

Rebranding requires more than a name change. It is time to get some honest Citizens to run for bcLiberals in order to dilute the less than honest, manipulative and self serving MLAs in the Liberal Party.

Canadians don’t want to ‘rock the boat’ when voting during pandemic, experts sayIncumbent parties in Saskatchewan, B.C. and New Brunswick have all been re-elected Disingenuous article that lumps together 3 Provinces . Maybe just maybe in BC it wasn't ppl not wanting to rock boat but voters genuinely supporting good policies by NDP, not just covid performance. When the boat is being run into an iceberg, I'll damn well jump off. Sure as heck hope the Americans do.
