The proposals, will outline how ESG funds should be marketed and how investment advisors should disclose their reasoning when labeling a fund

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on Wednesday will vote to propose a pair of rule changes aimed at stamping out unfounded claims by funds on their environmental, social and corporate governance credentials, and enforcing more standardization of such disclosures.

An SEC official said the agency estimates the new rule would capture around 75% of all funds versus 62% currently, and would bar funds from using “ESG” labels if those factors are not central to investment decisions. “We are hopeful that the new rule will require fund managers to follow basic naming guidelines. This will help to eliminate confusion and misleading marketing,” said Andrew Behar, president of climate activist group As You Sow.

SEC Chair Gary Gensler said in a statement that the measures respond to growing investor demand for such details.

Search for U.S. Supreme Court leaker falls to former Army colonelWhen Gail Curley began her job as Marshal of the U.S. Supreme Court less than a year ago, she would have expected to work mostly behind the scenes: overseeing the court's police force and the operations of the marble-columned building where the justices work. Now she's at the centre of a bombshell assignment: overseeing an unprecedented breach of secrecy. This being Twitter, I bet there are a lot of people who will read this tweet and think the story is that she is the leaker, not that she is the person in charge of the investigation. Its not either or as a decision. There are issues of forced sterilization as well as planned parenthood which is deemed essential. Out lawing and or over turning is smoke and mirrors.
