U.S. envoy Robert Malley says the United States, its partners are likely to exert pressure on Iran if it uses the Vienna talks to ‘build more leverage’

The United States and its partners are likely to exert pressure on Iran if it uses talks scheduled to resume in Vienna on Monday as pretext to accelerate its nuclear program, the U.S. special envoy to Iran said in an interview broadcast on Saturday.

Monday’s indirect talks between the United States and Iran, with the participation of major powers, resume after a five-month hiatus. “If that’s Iran’s approach, which is to try to use the negotiations as cover for an accelerated nuclear program, and as I say, drag its feet at the nuclear table, we will have to respond in a way that is not our preference,” said Malley, who heads up the U.S. negotiating team. “Nobody should be surprised if at that point there is increased pressure on Iran.

Murder rate in Canada hits 15-year high in 2020, StatsCan reportsTwo provinces boost total, while the number of gang\u002Drelated murders fall 10 per cent Thank goodness they criminalized all those firearms that weren’t involved in any of these murders. Actually solving the violent crime problem would take away the government’s ability to use the problem to divide law abiding citizens against one another. All PAL holders I've come to terms with the fact that Canada is not the Canada many of us grew up in. Our government abandoned us long ago

Evening Update: Canada to impose restrictions on travel from southern parts of Africa as concerns mount over COVID-19 variant OmicronAlso: France calls off talks with Britain as rift grows over English Channel migrant drownings It's about time... Justin knew weeks ago. And if this variant gets here from Egypt, Turkey, Israel, Belgium, UK or any other European country? The reason for banning Southern African nations and not others seems to be because they are least vaccinated rather that most infected Alternate approach: send them more vaccines To compensate for negative effects of imposing travel restrictions on southern parts of Africa, Canada should immediately support TRIPsWaiver, issue licences under Access to Medicines Regime for vaccines & deliver promised vaccines & more to affected countries.
