Breaking down the data by region shows the duration of school closures varies greatly, from five months or 20 weeks of “complete nation-wide closures on average” in Latin America and Caribbean nations, to the lesser two-and-a-half months or 10 week average in Europe. When factoring in localized school closures, the data shows “the duration of complete and localized closures exceeded seven months, or 19 weeks, on average in Latin America and the Caribbean, compared to the global average of five-and-a-half months, or 22 weeks,” the release states.

Makes sense to close the schools. When kids learn, grannies die in nursing homes. Not sure what the connection is but the experts say there is one.
Instead of 2/3 students have lost at least 1 loved one from infecting them with Covid
Add last year - Our children have lost 1 year of education for a virus with a 99.965 survival rate.
And the complete ruination of untold thousands of children. Since the school system has been reduced to bilious poison by corrupt teachers and officials, this is the time to think seriously about whether your children should ever be sent back there.

The whole damn year should be closed! It's so ridiculous on how there is no national plan to fight pandemic. Sensless crap they're putting us through. Send kids to school where they mingle with each other then home with 1 house bubble. RI-DI-CU-LOUS!
students are failing high school & post-secondary at ⬆️rates. Mental health needs⬆️. We need to invest in our future!⬆️ $ for ⬇️class size. Bring back gr. 13. families are paying out of pocket for post secondary & students are failing they are not ready-
“Full school closures must be a last resort” yet here we are with other reputable experts telling us they should be open and they remain closed with no response from fordnation to the advice? I think he needs new medical experts advising him and at the very least a response?
Despite the weeks of closure, school did pivot online, and credit needs to be given to the entire community that was working together to educate our youth. Thanks to the parents, teachers, EAs, admin, grandparents - thanks to the students!! It has been hard work, but worth it.
