Two popular B.C. marathon events go virtual amid ongoing pandemic

“Our small team has worked exceptionally hard to innovate during this challenging time and bring all the elements of our well-loved event directly to our participants,” Jennifer Busmann, the executive director of Oliver Osoyoos Wine Country, said in a news release.

In addition to a virtual race course that will see participants enjoy the view of the South Okanagan, the Half Corked Marathon Virtual Festival will include a series of interactive community events called The Roadshow, which will see a limited number of participants at each stop able to celebrate — and sip — B.C. wines.Article content continued

A 12-day series of online seminars from area winemakers and winery principals will also be on offer to event participants. The popular costume contest will carry online as well, organizers say, with the judging set to take place Aug. 17-22.
