Halifax Regional Police charged two people with drug and firearms offences after a search in Halifax on Wednesday, Jan. 11.HALIFAX, N.S. — Two people are facing drug and firearms charges after police searched a home in Halifax on Wednesday.

Halifax Regional Police officers searched the residence just after 12:30 a.m. in relation to an ongoing investigation. Two people were arrested, and officers seized quantities of cocaine, fentanyl and prescription opioids, cash and a stolen firearm, police said. Stephen David Assoun, 43, and Zatora Sofia Lee Hines, 32, were scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court Wednesday.
