One motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene, while two other motorcyclists and two other people from vehicles were taken to area hospitals. One motorcyclist was airlifted to a Lower Mainland hospital with serious injuries.
The collision closed the highway in both directions and the highway was not expected to be open to travellers until late Sunday night. On July 3, another motorcyclist, a 31-year-old Vancouver male, was killed after losing control on a corner and sliding into an oncoming vehicle in the southbound vehicle on Highway 99, just north of the In Shuck forest service road.
