WASHINGTON — After long refusing to explicitly criticize a sitting president, former Defense Secretary Jim Mattis accused President Donald Trump on Wednesday of trying to divide America and roundly denounced a militarization of the U.S. response to civil unrest.
“Instead he tries to divide us. We are witnessing the consequences of three years of this deliberate effort.” “Militarizing our response, as we witnessed in Washington, D.C., sets up a conflict — a false conflict — between the military and civilian society,” Mattis wrote. “I didn’t like his ‘leadership’ style or much else about him, and many others agree. Glad he is gone!” Trump wrote.
The current chairman, Army General Mark Milley, issued a message to the armed forces reminding them of their oath to uphold the U.S. Constitution, which gives Americans the right to “freedom of speech and peaceful assembly.” Similar messages were delivered by other top military leaders.
Well Trump will be saying nasty things about Mattis today....so predictable....such a child bully (Trump).
Is this all part of OBAMAGATE
Trumps comments on Mattis: General James ‘Mad Dog’ Mattis is 'A true General’s General!” Trump called General Mattis “just a brilliant, wonderful man.” in remarks to reporters. “What a career — we are going to see what happens, but he is the real deal,” Trump adds.
Trump - a man who claims to hold such a level of high regard for the military, is quick to turn on anyone who disagrees with his twisted incompetence.
