, shut down since Hurricane Fiona devastating impacts in late September, could reopen in late August of this year and be operational for the 2023-24 season.

In a Tuesday morning release, it was noted that Fiona caused major damage to the roof and created water damage to the interior, which resulted in the long-term closure. “While damage mitigation work took place throughout the fall of 2022, remediation and repair work is ongoing,” the release states. “At this point, the project scope has been established and the Town is working with contractors to obtain quotes on the cost of repairs.”

It’s further noted the costs will have to be approved by the town’s insurance provider, that the scope of the project is “extensive,” and delays are “magnified” because of the shortage of contractors who are able to take on and complete a project of this size.with, as of Jan. 24, 93 entries on its ‘community page’ for the popular contest . The nominate and rally period started Jan. 1 and goes until Feb. 19, followed by the judging stage. A top-four announcement takes place on March 11.
