Tory proposes $48.3M budget increase for Toronto police, includes hiring more officers

Twenty-two would be sent to work on major case management. The remaining 16 officers would be dedicated to neighbourhood community policing.

The city said this will “address the roots of violence and build on existing programming to support youth support including employment.”

Might want to also consider how/where they’re resettling the massive increase of immigrants. The current system of encouraging them into ‘urban intensification’ communities with no expectation of assimilation is causing much of the violence being inflicted on communities today.

Good! These officers suffer burnout from working long shifts that often have no breaks, to homicide detectives working day after day with no relief as there isn't any.
