Tip Er Back heading to the Katherine Hughes Memorial Hall Aug. 19 | SaltWire

Allan Betts, left, Wade Murray and Clive Currie of Tip Er Back will perform atthe Benevolent Irish Society on Friday, Aug. 19.CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. — Tip Er Back is heading to the Katherine Hughes Memorial Hall for a night of Gaelic and country tunes on Friday, Aug. 19.

The group, made up of Clive Currie on vocals and fiddle, Wade Murray on bass and Allan Betts on guitar, will play a mix of Maritime favourites, Gaelic tunes, country and some band originals. Betts, Currie and Murray were part of the popular country group Kickin’ Country, which performed for years across the Island.

Betts is not only a singer and musician but also a songwriter. He has penned the song, and I Owe Life to You, sung by many musicians, including Dino Dunsford.Darlene Bradley of Rice Point will also appear on stage as a soloist, adding harmonies and performing some of her favourites.Doors to the show will open at 7 p.m., and the show will kick off at 8 p.m.A portion of the proceeds will go to the society’s benevolent activities.
