Tiger Woods announced Thursday that he will return to PGA Tour action at the Memorial Tournament in Dublin, Ohio from July 16-19.next week. I’ve missed going out and competing with the guys and can’t wait to get back out there.Woods, 44, hasn’t played on the Tour since a 67th-place finish at the Genesis Invitational in mid-February.
He did, of course, take part in “The Match: Champions for Charity” back in May where Woods and Peyton Manning took on Phil Mickelson and Tom Brady to raise more than $20 million for charity. During that event, Woods showed little sign of the back stiffness that had been hampering him since the Genesis.
Woods’ return will be his first action since the PGA Tour was forced to put the season on pause one round into The Players Championship back in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The PGA Tour got back in full swing on June 11 with the Charles Schwab Challenge and has hosted three more tournaments since, the most recent being the Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit last weekend where Bryson DeChambeau won by three shots.
The host of the Memorial Tournament, Muirfield Village, will also be home to this weekend’s PGA Tour event, the Workday Charity Open.
