Cam Squires will be a key piece to the Cape Breton Eagles success as the team continues to build towards what they hope will be a championship-contending season in 2024-25. JEREMY FRASER/CAPE BRETON POST - Jeremy FraserSYDNEY, N.S. — Three Cape Breton Eagles players were among the 33 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League players on the NHL Central Scouting's mid-season players-to-watch list for the 2023 NHL Entry Draft.
Forward Cam Squires was the top-ranked Eagles player on the list. He was ranked No. 114 overall among North American skaters, while forward Luke Patteron was listed at No. 124. Defenceman Xavier Daigle was also part of the list and came in at No. 186 overall among North American skaters. The top-ranked QMJHL player on the list was Sherbrooke Phoenix forward Ethan Gauthier ranked No. 14 overall.
The 2023 NHL Entry Draft will take place June 28-29 at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville.
