The murder of a sex worker allegedly by a convicted killer on parole in Quebec last month has reignited calls for reform to Canada’s sex work laws. The laws came into effect in 2014 and were touted as a way to eliminate the demand for sex work altogether. But many advocates say that sex workers have faced increased violence. Today on the show, Sandra Wesley, the executive director of Stella, explains her perspective on the death of Marylene Levesque and why she’s advocating for the full decriminalization of sex work
