Tavares spoke Wednesday since suffering a head injury in the opening game of the Maple Leafs playoff series with the Canadiens

The 30-year-old said he has seen a few pictures from the incident but has not watched a video replay of it. The collision was shown on television that night numerous times from various angles.Players from both teams watched in concerned silence as he received emergency care and was then wheeled out of Scotiabank Arena on a stretcher.

Tavares said that Perry reached out to him immediately after the game. He said he has no sense that either Perry or Ben Chiarot – the other Canadiens player involved – intended to hurt him or that it was a dirty play.

Kenney speaks out against 'cancel culture' in Canada, says founding fathers could be erasedAlberta Premier Jason Kenney spoke out Tuesday afternoon about what he calls an ongoing 'cancel culture' in Canada and warned if it continues, most of the country’s founding fathers could one-day be removed from the history books. Renaming public buildings does not mean we are erasing history. Teaching our history to the next generation means talking about what happened, including the dark and shameful parts. Intergenerational trauma is a reality and we need to honour the victims, not the perpetrators. jkenney taking his cue from Trump. I don't think he understands the irony in what he's saying. He seems to be OK with ERASING the history of the insidious residential schools but worried the perpetrators may be forgotten? U CAN'T CANCEL HISTORY U CAN ONLY CHOOSE TO IGNORE IT. We need to cancel Kenney and quick.
