Lamborghini is recalling just over two dozen examples of its Aventador SVJ because improperly installed interior door handles mean some owners could get trapped inside their car.
Some 26 examples of both roadster and coupe SVJs built between December 3, 2019 and January 22, 2020 are affected, according to Motor1. On affected vehicles, “a non properly trained new operator may have not correctly engaged the bowden cable pin inside the internal door handles” during assembly, the company says.
This means the interior door handle could fail prematurely. If an owner enters the car without their keys, and the inside handle breaks off, it poses an “entrapment risk.” Outside handles should be all right.
drivingdotca The most complicated thing on a car is usually the door handle. Well except for the cigarette lighter still haven't found it.
drivingdotca A very expensive car made by cheap labour
drivingdotca I think there are more important and pressing issues in this world then worrying about being trapped in a Lambo. We all wish we had one but let’s pass on this story thanks
drivingdotca Oh good so I'm not the only one, phew!
drivingdotca Alright, I'll swing by the dealership tomorrow. *wakes up* Darn.
drivingdotca If this is true, we can soon expect to see lots of UBC students missing classes and having to sleep in their Lambos....
