“What happened to George Floyd cannot be ignored.” Sidney Crosby has released a statement condemning racial injustice.

called on prominent white NHLers to use their platforms to help bring about change, mentioning Crosby by name among those he hoped to see engage in the discussion.

“We’ve been outraged for hundreds of years and nothing’s changed. It’s time for guys like Tom Brady and Sidney Crosby, those type of figures, to speak up about what is right and, clearly in this case, what is unbelievably wrong,” Kane“Because that is the only way we’re going to actually create that unified anger to create that necessary change.”

Nice to see white hockey players finally getting involved. I know they’re trained since birth to only speak in generalities and cliches. I hope this is the start of a new openness....

'In all forms '? Smh... you can tell he had a gun to his head when he wrote this Man.. 20 yrs of supporting this dude...smh

Is that reporter from USA Today happy with this Because that’s what counts ...

OMG sO brAve OMG Sidney Crosby u saved black people! You did it! So brave! Anybody who doesn’t make a statement like this is clearly very racist and bad and white! I can’t believe the amount of bravery Sidney Crosby and other celebrities have posting the same exact thing. Wow!

Of course... a guy with Pittsburgh ties.... the city is filled with leaders!!!

Nah. He made his statement at the White House 2 years ago

Ty Sidney! Your viewpoint matters! BlackLivesMatter

FAN590 Whew...I was on the fence about racial injustice but thank god for this release

OK, now for comments from every player in the NBA about Jaden T. Hayden and what he did.

It wasn't ignored. It was on the news. Justice was served and the Cop was arrested. Now Anarchists are burning down cities and looting them blind, not in the name of Justice, but Pure evil just to cause chaos.

Black people aren’t going to start watching hockey just because you guys are making clowns of yourselves.

It hasn’t been! What has been is the collateral damage from the Anarchists businesses burned, lives ruined, Cops killed liberal politician and celebrities condoning violence posting bail for rioters. Their donations should be going to rebuilding the communities and lives ruined

Days late and only after being openly questioned. Way to lead Crosby.

Weren’t people pissed a couple weeks ago about zero statement, maybe this is why he didn’t make one? Damned if ya do, damned if ya don’t these days

Que the white bandwagon jumpers releasing statements. 'See guys, I'm not racist. My PR rep says so'.

Toews did it a few days ago... maybe you missed it while you were looking at pics of you visiting Trump at the WH.

I CALLED the penguins and asked them PLEASE don't go to the white house! The woman i talked to, laughed at me for bringing up YOU will be standing next to a RACIST, RAPIST, PEDOPHILE CONMAN! You had your chance Penguins to Be on the RIGHT SIDE of HISTORY!

Glad high profile athletes like Crosby are speaking up.

You guys employed Don Cherry for years and still have Eric Francis on your payroll, your words are meaningless when you refuse to take action to stem racism within your own organization.

He really enjoyed his trip at the White House...he could have said no and made a bigger statement but sure whateva...

It’s insane how the whole world stops for this guy and a black man gets killed during riots and nobody bats an eye. Odd world
