Montreal, as we reported last week, should get its full draft either next year or in June 2022.... Seattle makes sense for next year but not clear if they can pull it off at this stage LeBrun adds that Seattle makes sense for next year's draft since they could pair it with the expansion draft as the team is slated to join the league for the 2021-22 campaign, but it is unclear if they can make it happen at this late stage.
The NHL was supposed to be in Seattle this week or next to take a look, but that is on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, says LeBrun. COVID-19 also forced the 2020 NHL Draft, scheduled for late June at the Bell Centre in Montreal, to be postponed last week.
Who cares
Isnt there a rule that you have to have a team name and colors before hosting any drafts.... announce the name already
Why should a team that just gets in the league get it when done teams haven’t had one in years. Making these expansion teams instant winners is ridiculous.
Montreal got the dink this year. They deserve the draft.
Edmonton will get it.
I say no, only if no other team what's to host it then Seattle can
Unless you have a incompetent management team, you’re already going to get a pretty damn good team. So how about you enjoy that and wait a few years before we start talking about other events like this.
What a dumb title. What city isn't interested in hosting the draft?
What about Detroit? New facility is amazing!
With the long term fallout of the Coronavirus, methinks events like drafts will be held online or on close circuit TV from each teams arena war room. The days of the “spectacle “ draft and bringing players from all over are done.
How about let’s announce your name/ logo and jerseys first before you start anything else
the draft is always more intense in Chicago
Montreal...
