The Padres have fired manager Andy Green after four seasons. Green finishes his first stint as a manager with a 274–366 record.

In a corresponding move, the Padres announced that bench coach Rod Barajas will serve as interim manager for the rest of the season.

The decision comes after the Padres failed to make the playoffs for the 13th season straight. They currently stand at 69-85, behind only the Colorado Rockies in the NL West. “This was an incredibly difficult decision, but one we felt was necessary at this time to take our organization to the next level and expedite the process of bringing a championship to San Diego,” said Padres executive vice-president and general manager A.J. Preller.Green, 42, earned his first managerial job when he signed with San Diego in October 2015, after spending a season as the third-base coach with the Arizona Diamondbacks.

It was not the Canucks' real power-play unit either. This has been such a sore spot for this team for so many seasons, it’s mighty clear that if the penalty kill doesn’t get fixed, neither will the team. EdmontonOilers Spec I watched this game for about 10 min, saw the canucks get 2, the Oilers looked awful, and the goalie sucked. The worst part was it was so damn boring, even if it was 5-0 oilers I would have turned it off. I feel bad for the people that paid to watch that Spec EdmontonOilers Time to stop throwing crap at the wall hoping it sticks. The prospects aren’t ready and its time to buck up. As it looks right now, gonna be a long season. EdmontonOilers Spec It would be nice if the team had a goalie to help out out on the PK
