Drew Brees announces he'll be returning for the 2020 NFL season. 'Love you WhoDatNation. Let’s make another run at it!'
New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees will be returning to the NFL for the 2020 season.
The announcement ends the uncertainty around the Saints’ starting quarterback for next season as Brees had reportedly been mulling retirement after 19 seasons. The next step for New Orleans will be re-signing its star pivot, as Brees is set to become a free agent when the new league year gets underway on March 18.
Brees, 41, has put together a Hall-of-Fame resume since joining the Saints ahead of the 2006 season. In addition to helping the Saints to a victory in Super Bowl XLIV in February 2010, Brees has led the NFL in completion percentage six times (including the last three seasons), passing yards seven times, and all QBs in touchdown passes four times.
