Because both men are technically suspended to the end of the 2020 post-season as opposed to a specific number of games, MLB will view Luhnow and Hinch as having served their respective bans.
Hinch and Luhnow were handed one-year suspensions in January following an MLB investigation that confirmed the Astros stole signs using cameras during the regular season and playoffs in 2017 and for part of the 2018 regular season. The Astros were not stripped of their 2017 World Series title as part of their discipline for the scandal but were fined $5 million and had to forfeit draft picks.
It's not like anyone will hire A.J. Hinch or Jeff Luhnow for the 2021 season. They're not getting paid regardless for 2020. If we start adjusting things should the Dodgers get back their prospects for Mookie Betts? Them not getting suspended for 2021 doesn't change much.
