Nearly nine in 10 New Brunswickers who speak French as their official first language were born in the province, and about 90 per cent of native French speakers continue to speak it as a primary language.At work, 111,715 people, representing 32 per cent of New Brunswick workers, use French regularly. Areas where the most French is spoken include the dense francophone population in the northern parts of the province. However, communities such as Moncton, Saint-Louis and Bouctouche have begun garnering larger French-speaking populations.
