At least 90 people died in recent heat waves across India and Pakistan, and climate change made those events far more likely, according to a new study.

The Associated PressA man and a boy walk across an almost dried-up bed of the Yamuna River following hot weather in New Delhi, on May 2.

If global heating increases to 2 C more than pre-industrial levels, heat waves like this could occur twice in a century and up to once every five years, said Arpita Mondal, a climate scientist at the Indian Institute of Technology in Mumbai, who was part of the study.

What is certain, though, is the devastation the heat wave has wreaked. India sweltered through the hottest March in the country since records began in 1901, and April was the warmest on record in Pakistan and parts of India.India’s heat tests ‘limit of human survivability’Johanna Wagstaffe explains what the future may hold for a country that has already experienced back-to-back record hot months.

It is called weather. Please stop with the fear mongering. The earth just came out of an ice age 10,000 years ago. To the earth that is not even yesterday. Actual climate data (based on thousands of years) shows this. Taking a recent snippet of data is not science.

Climate change is a natural fact of the world I would of died 3 times in my life time with the fear told there was hole in ozone layer everyone dead in 10 years that came and went. Not saying we have not helped to add a bit to climate change.

Yea Im sure poverty has nothing to do with it

Omg when can we get vaccinated ! The war is causing sunscreen prices to sky rocket omg the monkey pox monkey see monkey do !

Don’t you worry , Justin’s Carbon Tax will put a stop to that.

Maybe all the world leaders should fly there to discuss what can be done. Haha.

No no. That was Ganish.

And growing up , I was terrified of going outside because of acid rain .

Right …..

on cbc where there is no more such thing as bad weather

I'm just wondering what Pakistan and India have for a plan to fight global warming

Yet most people don't believe in climate change even though summers are getting more intensely hot, and climate events are increasing in intensity. But of course, like the pandemic, the experts are wrong and the mis-informed are correct. Harrowing times we live in.

Uh huh.

You can’t stop climate change. The planet is warming naturally. Carbon emissions are only speeding it up. Overpopulation is the greatest threat to the planet.

Climate change. According to a new “study “

No it didn't
