A man was injured when he was dragged while trying to prevent his truck from being stolen Saturday night. Keith Gosse/The TelegramST. JOHN'S, N.L. — Police are investigating an apparent break-in to a Mount Pearl residence that sent one man to hospital late Saturday night.

Shortly before 11 p.m., RNC officers received a call for assistance at a residence on Leger Crescent.The victim was taken to hospital for serious injuries believed to be non-life threatening. Through investigations, officers learned that the victim’s residence was broken into and his vehicle, a white 2018 GMC Sierra was stolen., the Telegram received information that the man attempted to stop the theft when the culprit drove the truck out of the driveway at high speed, dragging the owner in the process and crashing into a car on the street.

After the truck hit a curb and a street sign, the driver was dragged about 70 meters around a corner before being thrown to the ground onto a nearby lawn.On Dec. 4, before 4 a.m. officers found the stolen truck in the New Pennywell Road area in St. John's.Police said all suspects wore dark clothing and were masked.

RNC are seeking any information that may assist the investigation, including observed suspicious activity, dash camera footage or CCTV in the following areas:New Pennywell Road, St. Johns and surrounding roads between the hours of 11:30 pm Dec. until 3:30 am Dec. 4.
