Canada's police chiefs are calling for decriminalization of personal possession of illicit drugs as the best way to battle substance abuse and addiction.

The Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police is proposing increased access to health care, treatment and social services to divert people away from the criminal justice system. The Trudeau government has already legalized recreational use of marijuana with the goal of keeping pot out of the hands of young people and denying profits to organized criminals.

The chiefs say diversion would improve the health and safety outcomes for drug users while reducing property crime, repeat offences and the demand for drugs in communities. But the traditional role of frontline policing has fundamentally shifted to harm reduction when interacting with people experiencing addiction or mental-health problems, Palmer said in a statement.

I agree, it’s worked in Portugal

It's about officers being able to use Pot and CBD oil without being fired Not crack meth ext. Don't get excited that illegal drugs will be legal ot won't be. It's about the Police Force not firing those needing meds.

sportsrage 🚬🌿👍😉

Watch this

Many of our guns are now illegal but they want to stop charging drug crime.

First we let sex offenders out of jail for covid, now we allow personal use of illicit drugs. We are most definitely in some deranged upside down world. Why not just start putting vending machines in the high schools filled with beer, cigs, mj, crack, lsd, acid. Get em young.

That's gonna solve the problem.....

This is a good start. as a direct descendant of the Maya, I think personal blood letting should also be approved, human sacrifice in a few years

A sensible and logical position.

Would that include personal drug use in prison also? Just wondering.

Nothing fucked up here!

The next generation will have to pay off this debt with a noose around their neck in the form of taxes. Liberals also sadistically sabotaged Canada's golden goose; energy sector. Meanwhile counties like China plough on getting richer.

The CCP is a very dangerous enemy. Canada needs to fight back and not buckle. 🇨🇳 has tried many things to get 🇨🇦 to cave, all failed. They have lost face every time. I can't see them being too keen to keep trying. It's up to Canada to find a way to get 🇨🇳 out of this situation without losing face. Easier said...

Western Canada: B.C. father wins right to let children take the bus aloneAlso in this newsletter: Health officials on Alberta First Nation believe they have COVID-19 outbreak under control He did not 'win' the right. It already existed. He took a stand to protect his parental rights and the court ruled the province was violating them. It's a great legal decision for parents in Canada. Elementary school children regularly ride the trains in Tokyo. Granted the trains are more regular and have barriers and supervision than buses, but I was shocked at first, now it seems quite normal. All over the world children use public transit ! Mine too ! There are no alternatives! Or perhaps home schooling ? Why not bicycles ?
