Conservative leadership race clips along as all three candidates raise more than outgoing leader Andrew Scheer did in his 2017 campaign

Conservative Party of Canada leadership candidates left to right Erin O'Toole, Peter MacKay, Derek Sloan and Leslyn Lewis wait for the start of the French Leadership Debate in Toronto on June 17, 2020.Peter MacKay has so far raised the most money in a Conservative leadership race that shows Erin O’Toole closing the fundraising gap and political rookie Leslyn Lewis cracking $1-million, according to figures from each campaign.

Mr. O’Toole’s campaign said it raised a total of $2,101,000 so far, with $1,316,000 coming from the second quarter. Ontario MP Derek Sloan’s campaign did not respond to a request for his latest fundraising numbers. In the first quarter, he raised $410,000, according to numbers released by Elections Canada.

The fundraising numbers are impressive, especially in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting economic crisis, said Yan Plante, a former senior staffer in the Harper government and a senior director at Tact, a consulting firm. Given that, Mr. Plante said Mr. MacKay’s lower contribution numbers are a “yellow light” warning for his campaign.

Andrew Scheer is still the duly elected leader and doing a better job than any of those wannabes.

Who in their right minds donate to these people?

I’m praying Dr Lewis wins this race.... she has the clear momentum!!

Sloan only accepting confederate dollars.

DerekSloanCPC loser

And, so ends democracy not with a crash or a dither But, by God - with Cash!

That's the best the Conservatives can come up with? I'm not a Trudeau fan, but there's no way

Why would anybody waste their money on theses losers?
