People are calling out the CN Tower for the colour of its lights Toronto CNTower

Protests erupted across several cities in Iran in recent days, which were triggered by the death of 22-year-old Kurdish woman Mahsa Amini in police custody.

Amini was arrested on Sept. 13 in Tehran by the country's morality police after being accused of violating the Iran's law on headscarves. Her brother was told she would be taken to a detention centre to receive training on hijab rules. However, Amini collapsed from a heart attack and died on Sept. 16, after being in a coma for three days.

Witnesses claim that she was beaten to death by the police in their patrol car on the way to the detention centre. Several countries, including Canada, have announced they will impose sanctions on dozens of Iranian individuals and entities, including the country's morality police.

So other folks can cry that aligning the colours with the flag colours comes off like the CN Tower I'd aligning themselves with thr Iran government.🤷🏾‍♂️

I also don’t understand when women who come from Iran continue to cover their heads. If you look back in time you will find that men made you cover up so if you are pist off with what is happening in your country you came from take it off in protest It’s a start

It wouldn’t matter what they did there is always some one who isn’t happy. Problem is we bend over to who ever whines the most.

mahsaamini مهسا_امینی well said! All eyes on us! Let’s be the voice of the people are fighting for their basic rights! 💚🤍❤️ TourCNTower cityoftoronto ALL EYES ON YOU NOW! 💚🤍♥️

Lol women have no rights but they have lights

Typical western statement - instead of worrying about the colour, maybe send some aid or do something to actually impact something

We live in a world of virtue signalling. It’s easy to be theatrically outraged to get “likes” and “clicks” between sipping your coffee at Starbucks. The reason the world more or less remains the same is because meaningful action isn’t happening.

Ppl need to get a life and assess their priorities. Holy shit. Am I living in a simulation?!

Great post!

What a big disappointment!!! 💚🤍❤️

Get a life people. Lights? Really This is where your focus is...useless show. Put your mind and energies to something THAT MIGHT ACTUALLY HELP. CN Tower lights do nothing for the women of IRAN or anywhere else.

In Iran, they treat their women lower than they do rats.

Thank you so much for solidarity with Iranian people, I am glad this time governments in the world dont look the other way. مهسا_امینی ، OpIran

Canada are masters at placing eyes at others while their own backyard is dirty and breaking to pieces. Go help your homeless population.

I'm all for providing actual assistance to those brave enough to protest in Iran, but the colour of the tower lighting isn't going to change anything. This feels like another BlogTO found three people that didn't like something so they wrote another clickbait article.

Seems sane

Is there nothing more pressing to complain about?
