Parties sought answers from the Prime Minister on consumer price surge and affordability concerns during the first Question Period since June. Trudeau dismissed the digs as ‘silly partisan games’

Economic issues from inflation to housing and the cost of a tank of gas were the top concern for opposition parties Wednesday as they grilled Prime Minister Justin Trudeau in the first Question Period since June and against the backdrop of rising consumer prices.

The Prime Minister dismissed the digs, made in both official languages, as “silly partisan games” while the Liberals focus on Canadians. The central bank, which is responsible for keeping a lid on inflation, attributes the rise in prices largely to a surge in energy prices and global supply chain bottlenecks. Other factors include a rebound in demand for services that were shuttered by the, and a drought that hit the Prairies, devastating crops and animal herds and pushing up the price of food.

Still, inflationary pressures are expected to persist for some time. The central bank expects inflation will remain close to 5 per cent for the rest of the year, and average 3.4 per cent next year. “Housing is a major priority for this government and we will deliver,” Mr. Trudeau said, highlighting the government’s pledge to help municipalities build more housing units, increase access to affordable housing and make it easier for first-time buyers to get into the market.

curryb They didn’t ‘grill’ him. They stood up and made snarky comments like jr high mean kids who don’t know ehat they are talking about. Good grief. QP is such a waste. All the money on all those lackies….think about that.

Trudeau will try and bullshit his way through this....guaranteed.

The opposition looked and sounded absolutely ridiculous! Someone who’s never held a real job like little PP…telling PMJT that HE was out of touch! It was pathetic!

The educated young Canadians will just pack it up and leave to the US 🇺🇸 they have been doing it for years now.

I feel for younger Canadians trying to purchase their first home, competing with the liberals 400,000+ immigration policy. This government is really bad for the younger middle class.

That's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to you. Why do MSM continue to be so offensive. We have to develop respect for our elected official somehow and this is not doing it. Terrible role models for our youth.

Headline could be Poilievre again demeans himself with questioning phrased to impress the eight-year-old voter/taxpayer demographic.
