The group called for increased vaccination and public health measures to reduce transmission as cases rise, while Ontario’s top doctor maintained that more data is needed before deciding whether to bring in provincewide measures to contain spread.
That scenario, which also said 400 patients could be in intensive care, was based on the assumption that residents maintain their current behaviour and 30 per cent of children aged five to 11 are vaccinated by the end of December. Some health units have already taken such measures in response to rising cases, which McGeer said can be effective.
“This is a different game now that there’s such a different rate and impact on the acute care sector,” he said. “We’re really having to try to put fires out where they come up.” There were 165 people in intensive care with COVID-19 related critical illness as of Tuesday including 95 people on ventilators and one patient from Saskatchewan.
Omicron is not very dangerous. It may spread fast but also harmless.

Nice to see so many concerns about the cuts to healthcare the PCs made. 🤣
I just don’t give a shit. Let it run its course
The cases needed to be dropped by 650 or less
This in Ontarios version of Vladamir Lennin .

stupid science table
Can you say Bullshit, I know you Can!
That's unlikely, given South Africa's data. Even if it was true, 400 ICU cases shouldnt be a problem. If it is, thats more a serious indictment on our health care system being neglected, rather than anything to do with covid.
Same old fear with MSM …..this doc will pay the price
Still no increase in ICU beds. More of the population vaccinated. Projected outbreaks right after holidays. Masking and distancing still in place. Clearly it’s our fault again. Look up the definition of insanity. We are living it.
Some one has shares in the pharmaceutical companies to quote those numbers
Mosquito Repellent gives strong protection..... it isn't a vaccine vaccine= a cure dr? tam Pfizer/Moderna offer strong protection if you keep getting jabs Nobody's jab is a vaccine Gov covid policy is 3 jabs to deal with 1 to 2 waves at a time. Covid is here forever...
Considering most of those are either unvaccinated or significantly elderly/sick already we should still be taking a different view in our responses so as to not destroy the majority of livelihoods and quality of life.
The Pseudo-Science Table!
or 5000 or even 20000. Numbers produced by Ontario officials are meaningless. They are not responsible or forecasts they generate.
The Are ZERO Deaths Among Children From C-19! Why Are They Promoting The Vaccines?
Scare everyone, flushing their savings & retirements down the drain…. thanks Gov. 2 years to make preparations & your plan is Robinhood, steal taxes from hard working Canadians & flush it down the drain!
They haven't even been close a single time
Are we back to doing this again? 🙄
In short, Ontario will see a lockdown probably in Jan or Feb.
Wow they just never stop with their crazy models. This is there way of saying no Christmas for you, stay home….. i am so incredibly sick of it.
The vax don’t work nor the boosters. The vax r the only ones out mingling and travelling remember that. Consider that over 80% of the pop is vax. Wake up.
Is anybody, other than apparently the Post, still listening?
lol ok
Who makes these projections? In April, they were forecasting 10K cases/day by May. It never even got to a quarter of that. Don't they realize that these insane projections just feed into the idiot fringe who think this is just a hoax!!!
