There have been more than 17,000 so-called breakthrough cases of COVID-19 involving fully vaccinated Ontarians over the last year but the number of those people under 60 who eventually ended up in an intensive care unit is only nine.

examining the prevalence of breakthrough infections in the province up until Nov. 14.

But it also suggests that the share of fully vaccinated people who end up in hospital is even lower, particularly among those under the age of 60. The release of the data comes as fully vaccinated individuals begin to account for an increasingly larger share of Ontario’s overall caseload, sometimes even making up the majority of new infections in the province’s daily case counts.

“Over time as a population becomes more highly vaccinated the number of post-vaccination cases, including breakthrough cases, will likely increase,” the report notes. “Even with a highly effective vaccine, cases may occur among vaccinated individuals due to a larger proportion of the population being vaccinated than unvaccinated.”

People need to realize that the 9 were Vaccinated and that the 1722 were not. Please please read the article before commenting. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Not you tooo. Please news people quote that the 9 were vaccinated and 1722 in ICU in the same time frame were in ICU unvaccinated. DO your JOB. AND do it Right. FFS.

Yup, now minimize the breakthroughs, absolutely a joke of reporting. Why not report that there are only 4 active cases in hospital of children under the age 12? Seems a little more relevant at this time. Oh right, wrong narrative.
