Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole has repeatedly refused to say whether he’s in favour of a convoy of truckers en route to Ottawa to protest their industry’s vaccine mandate.

It’s not for the leader of the official Opposition to attend a convoy or protest on the Hill, O’Toole said Monday. Rather, politicians must advocate for ways to fix Canada’s high cost of living and supply bottlenecks. Since Jan. 15, Canadian truck drivers have had to be fully inoculated or be quarantined for two weeks upon re-entering the country.The industry has been short drivers for years, and the Canadian Truckers Association says 10 to 15 per cent of current drivers can’t work because they’re not inoculated, as the mandate requires.
