Funding will be used to increase the maximum weekly amounts available for eligible students under New Brunswick's student loan program from $140 to $200 and New Brunswick's bursary program from $130 to $160. More than 13,000 students received the student loan, and more than 4,000 received the bursary in 2022.

Provincial funding is available for full-time studies and is based on factors such as family size and income.“We recognize the value and contributions that students bring to our province,” said Post-Secondary Education Minister Arlene Dunn. “Having financial support can be a motivation for students to make it through their higher education and I am pleased that this will assist many students in that regard.
