NBA Commissioner says league hit by huge financial losses due to Daryl Morey’s Hong Kong tweet Globe_Sports

“I felt we had made enormous progress in terms of building cultural exchanges with the Chinese people. And, again, I have regret that much of that was lost,” Silver said at the Time 100 Health Summit in New York.“And I’m not even sure where we’ll go from here, but the direct answer to your question is the financial consequences have been and may continue to be fairly dramatic.”

In the aftermath of Morey’s tweet, China did not broadcast or stream the two preseason games that were held in the country between the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets while the NBA canceled many player appearances.

...or how to have no values, attempt to play both sides of the fence, and get torched on both sides of the fence lol they're going to be playing this down for years even if the average fan forgets it 3 weeks

When principles will win over money it will never be soon enough.

Boo fucking hoo.

Boo hoo

Get over it! When you go to bed with a human-rights abusing regime, you wake up with a cancer!

Thoughts and prayers

Its quite ironic to hear communist supporters decrying their loss in profits

Time to stop kissing up to China. Let them watch Chinese basketball.

Hongkong protesters are doing something that truly matters to the world; fighting for freedom and democracy against a brutal, tyrannical government bent on subjugating its peoples. The NBA are a bunch of men running around hitting a ball into a net. Which group truly matters?

👍🏼

good

No worries, they will back soon

freehongkong

Yay!!!!!!!

Freedom always comes at a price The NBA should consider itself lucky that it's just financial Those in HK and elsewhere are nowhere near as lucky

Does anyone feel sorry

He looks like an uglier Pierre Mcguire.
